Job Description

Medstaff has a new locum tenens opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Emergency Medicine experience.  NOTE:  Candidates must have EM experience, as Urgent Care experience will not meet the client’s requirements.  

Location: Near Birmingham, Alabama.  Candidates will be credentialed for two locations about 3 blocks apart
Start Date: April 2024, privileging timeframe estimated at 60 days
Length: 4+ months

Facility 1: 

  • Shifts: Sun-Sat, 9a-7p, 12p-10p, 5p-3a (times may vary slightly)
  • 40k Annual Volume
  • 30-36 hours of MD coverage
  • 30 hours of APP coverage

Facility 2:

  • Shifts: Sun-Sat 10a-10p (time may vary slightly)
  • 20k Annual Volume
  • 24 hours of MD coverage
  • 12 hours APP day coverage
  • Must be comfortable and experienced in pediatrics, an Adult trained practitioner would not be acceptable

Credentials: National Certification, EM Training or recent EM experience, Active Alabama medical license and DEA
Compensation: Medstaff provides a competitive hourly rate, travel, housing and Medical Malpractice.
