It seems like just yesterday when the locum tenens industry gathered in New Orleans for the 2021 Fall Fly-In event hosted by the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations.
And yet, here we are, one week away from this year’s event at the Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Denver. The 2022 Fall Fly-In takes place Monday, September 26, and Tuesday, September 27.
NALTO hosts the Fly-In every autumn, and each year it draws locum tenens leaders and insiders from around the country to learn about the latest developments in the industry and to network with colleagues, potential customers, and business partners. Advance interest in the event is strong, with nearly 100 attendees representing 40 companies expected to attend.
What’s “On Tap”?
On Monday, September 26, NALTO holds its Board of Directors Meeting from 9 am to 3 pm (thank you for your service, ladies and gentlemen!). The event registration desk opens at 2 pm, and the member orientation and welcome reception with exhibitors commences at 3:30 pm. Did someone say “open bar” and light hors d’ouerves?
Attendees should make their way to the lobby around 5:30 pm to catch a bus – a bus to Blue Moon Brewery, home of the famous Belgian white, where attendees will unwind with some libations, tasty grub, and friendly conversation at the Monday night event sponsored by CLS, Health Liability Specialists.
The Fly-In gets down to business Tuesday, September 27, with several live panels and presentations. Burt first, grab some java and breakfast bites in the exhibit hall starting at 7:30 am. The exhibitor floor opens at 8 am, and Locumpedia is exhibiting for the first time ever, you guys! Come check out what we have in store for the locum tenens industry.
Break it Down
At 8:30 am Monday, NALTO president Matt Young of All Star Healthcare Solutions introduces this year’s keynote speaker, Greg Hiebert, a leadership expert who for 30 years has served high-profile clients such as Aetna and the United States Air Force. In addition to his focus on helping leaders develop themselves, he also works in other areas including team building and strategic development. His speech will help listeners better understand how they can optimize their impact on others while at the same time allowing themselves space to grow on a personal and professional level.
At 10:45 am, it’s time to catch up with the latest industry developments. NALTO’s lobbying group, McGuireWoods, and members of our Legislative Committee will discuss the latest news on Capitol Hill, including the recent introduction of H.R. 7881 (The Health Care Provider Shortage Minimization Act of 2022) and its progress on other important advocacy topics. This session will be moderated by Amber Sprengard, Vice President of Government Affairs at Health Carousel Locum Network.
At 1:15 pm, a panel of NALTO board members will chat about contract negotiation best practices. On the panel are:
- Moderator Anne Anderson, Executive VP of Jackson & Coker
- NALTO President Matt Young of All Star
- NALTO Vice President Liz Hale of MPLT
- Adwoa Awotwi, General Counsel with LocumTenens.com
- Eddie Christensen, General Counsel with CHG
- LaKeisha Sisco-Beck, General Counsel with Jackson & Coker
Finally, at 3 pm, networking roundtables covering the following themes will take place:
- VMS/MSP Future Outlook
- Building/Maintaining Company Culture in a Hybrid World
- TeleHealth, An Emerging Market or Just a Part of the Mix?”
- Risky Business! Risk Management in Today’s World
- Attracting, Training, and Retaining Top Talent for Your Organization
To round out the day’s activities, a farewell reception and prize drawing will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm before conferencegoers are released into the wild to explore beautiful downtown Denver or surrounding environs.
All times listed are in Mountain Time, so plan accordingly. For the most updated event info, visit the NALTO agenda web page.
