Family Medicine/Internal Medicine (FM/IM) Locum tenens
Job Description
Work Dates Needed: Asap, Ongoing, full-time position (40 hours per week).
Preferred Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts (or as agreed upon with the facility).
Worksite Setting: – Correctional facility housing adult ICE detainees.
Scope of Work:
- Provide professional medical care, including examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatments, and follow-up care for detainees.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Health Services Supervisor, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Perform minor surgeries and occasional major surgeries when necessary.
- Hold medical clinics, provide health counseling, and participate in treatment team meetings.
- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations, catastrophic illnesses, and overall facility healthcare standards.
- Maintain security, confidentiality, and accuracy of medical records.
- Provide leadership in the medical unit, participate in facility investigations, and adhere to all security protocols.
Licenses, Certifications, Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
- Valid driver’s license.
