Job Description

Work Dates Needed: Asap, Ongoing, full-time position (40 hours per week).

Preferred Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts (or as agreed upon with the facility).

Worksite Setting: Adams County Correctional Center, Natchez, MS – Correctional facility housing adult ICE detainees.

Scope of Work:

  • Provide professional medical care, including examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatments, and follow-up care for detainees.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Health Services Supervisor, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Perform minor surgeries and occasional major surgeries when necessary.
  • Hold medical clinics, provide health counseling, and participate in treatment team meetings.
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations, catastrophic illnesses, and overall facility healthcare standards.
  • Maintain security, confidentiality, and accuracy of medical records.
  • Provide leadership in the medical unit, participate in facility investigations, and adhere to all security protocols.

Licenses, Certifications, Requirements:

  • Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Valid driver’s license.
