Job Description

Work Schedule: 12-hour day and night shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am). Candidates who are flexible and willing to work both days and nights are preferred.

Work Location: Hospital in South Central Georgia

Scope of Work:

  • Rounds, admissions, and consults in the pediatric ward, labor and delivery, and newborn nursery
  • Level I and II nurseries
  • Experience with high volume of sick newborns and high flow nasal cannula capability cases required
  • Must be comfortable with caring for patients down to 32 weeks and 1,500 grams
  • Ability to intubate for surfactant administration and manage bubble CPAP
  • General surgery and orthopedics cases as needed (e.g. fractures requiring OR, appendectomies in older children)
  • No NICU, PICU, DKA, pediatrics subspecialties, or TPN
  • Circumcision not required but preferred
  • Average daily census of 12-17 patients in the 10-bed pediatrics floor with dedicated nursing staff
  • Approximately 1,500 deliveries per year
  • NICU patients typically transferred to Macon, with sickle cell patients transferred to Augusta or Jacksonville

Requirements:

  • Active Georgia medical license
  • Active Georgia DEA or willingness to change address to Georgia
  • Board certification required
  • PALS, NRP, and BLS certification required
  • Current CV required
  • TB skin test within the past 12 months
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions may be possible)
